Grown up in the country on an orchid field, wild raspberries, mulberry trees with pear trees that feed the deer that came with their fawns that bucks fight over a doe. I miss hearing the coyote packs excited when they caught their prey under the stars and moon. Fireflies dancing all night that go in mason jars and put in the bedroom or back porch where the lights were hung up n grill going strong challenging the bonfire that roasted s'mores with friends and family while the dogs ran round chasing each other. The birds with the babies in the spring calling for food by their mom's. Great horned owl where I grew up was laying down with a broken wing without fear but a gentle voice n artistic hands the owl accepted me to help his wing. The owl never hurt me when he could fly again he stayed where I grew up watching over me like that bats done. Trash pandas and ground hogs got shot by my grandpa's black powder rifle every time he caught them trouble makers but he catch hell from me when he shot a mother ground hog with babies still needing her he never did that again til the babies didn't need their mom no more cause I took the babies into my room protecting them and raised them up and grandpa learned to respect the ways that life is suppose to be but as well respected with patience. Dogs dumped cause the owners didn't want them no more always found where I grew up cause not just the porch lights on every night but I kept my window open n a sensor light to go on that wake me up and saved many dogs that way and when owners were found that abandoned the dogs I didn't not let them have their dogs back cause I was their voice and I have told owners the way it's going to be and they don't like it they met the end of the barrel or their own dog stood their ground next to me freely choosing their own choice of new life. Grandpa taught me how to use a chainsaw and use a splitting maul and take the truck out sun up to sun down to get wood for the wood stove burner
