I am a vibrant, smart business woman, co founder and operator of a non profit horse rescue. I have programs in the community for at risk populations that include kids on probation, autistic kids and drug court clients. I am a gourmet cook, bake a mean strawberry rhubarb pie, and have had a restaurant, catering business and baked for the Farmer's Market in the past. I have a degree in social work and diet technology.
I was an early retiree, due to some back problems and am still a little challenged with that today. My husband and I were full tie RVers for several years, volunteering for the Forest Service all over the US. My husband died over a year ago from liver cancer. He was my best friend for 15 years of marriage and he taught me alot about horses and running a ranch. My children are grown and live in Hawaii and Florida,which makes for a great get away a few times a year.
My small ranch of 2 1/2 acres, is run by volunteers and community service workers. We board abouut 10 horses, that helps to pay the feed bill for the other 10 rescues.
I am a full figured gal, have been all my life.
I had 3 back surgeries several years ago and have been cleared to ride again. I plan to start to ride in the spring and I am thrilled at that prospect. I look forward to trails rides in the mountains, and I have several nice quarter horses that love the trails. So if you are looking for a petite gal, I am not for you.
The man that I am looking for should like horses and have some knowledge of ranch life. He should be healthy, an outside smoker is ok, and social drinker is fine. I have a very easy going way about me, but can stand up for myself with no problem. I don't like drama and a peaceful
home is a happy one.
My ranch is a busy one, with riding lessons, horse camp and therapy going on almost daily. Sunday is our day of rest.
So, if you like horses, dogs, (did I mention the chickens?) kids, fixing things, starry nights, holding hands, long kisses, cool sheets, good coffee, Italian food, lots of fun and never a dull moment, send me a message!
