I Would Describe Myself As

I am a hard working person, I love my career and look forward to work most days (there are always a few days when it would be great to hit the snooze button and stay in a warm comfy bed, especially if I had someone to share that bed with). I work hard so I like to have fun and play when I am not at work. My job takes me aways some times so I enjoy my free time when I am home. I love to camp, I don't mind getting dirty at all, hike, rollerblade, mountain bike and just walk through the woods on a weekend. I love cooking over an open fire when I am camping, it gives me great pleasure to be outside cooking. Actually cooking in general gives me great pleasure and most days you can find me in my kitchen creating something new. Currently my favourite thing is making chocolates, which the guys at work love because they get to try what ever I make. I love to have dinner parties for my friends on the weekends. I am a certified Chef so I love being in the kitchen, although I no longer work in that field. I couldn't decide what I wanted to be when I grew up so I took photojournalism which encompassed two of my three loves- writing and photography. Then changed courses after and took up cooking. My dream job would be to be book editor or a food writer/photographer.

I like to try new adventures and recently took up rock climbing, which is one of those activities that scares the h*ll out of me but thrills me as well. My instructor told me that there is a saying among climbers that goes something like "rock climbing is a sport best enjoyed the following day". Which resonates with me because I love the being safe back at the bottom looking up thinking "I actually climbed that". This summer I want to try kayaking, I was thrilled to find out that this is a sport I can learn here in Edmonton. I thought when I moved from Ontario that I wouldn't have the opportunity to do any water sports because I was no longer surrounded by water (which disappointed me as I was an avid scuba diver). I moved to Edmonton six years ago because of my job. I love it here and call it home. I don't know the city as well as I would like and would love to have someone who knew the uniqueness of the city.

I grew up on a farm, so I know how to get dirty but I also like to get dressed up for a night on the town. I like to sit at a pub catching up with friends or at a small club listening to local bands sipping a great glass of wine.
